Relieving Chiropractic Care Relief of Sitka Leg Pain Right or Left

Right leg. Left leg. Sciatic leg pain will affect either leg (and sometimes both). Sitka chiropractic care at Arctic Chiropractic, Sitka helps reduce leg pain and focuses on the spinal source of the sciatica at the same time. Arctic Chiropractic, Sitka leads Sitka leg pain and back pain patients to pain relief with chiropractic care.

SCIATIC LEG PAIN: Right Leg or Left Leg

You have heard of right-handed people and left-handed people, right? Sure! Did you know that the right leg grows longer in left-handed people and the left leg grows longer in right-handed people? Not all the time, but research has it documented in pretty high percentages. Bearing this in mind, it’s not surprising that more people have longer left legs (53%) than right legs (39%). Amazingly, just 8% of people have equal leg lengths. (1) How does that impact which leg will have sciatica? Discs will bulge into the concavity of the curve due to a variety of issues like uneven stresses on the anulus of the disc. The concavity of the spinal curve is on the long leg side. A right-handed person with a long left leg will likely experience leg pain on the left side. Another curious point: hip pain often occurs on the long leg side, too: 88.9% long leg and 11.1% short leg. Sciatica, too: 78.5% arises on the long leg side and 21.5% on the short leg side. (2,3) Your Sitka chiropractor can see a short leg pretty easily by checking three things: iliac crest, the verticality of the spine, and levelness of the posterosuperior iliac spine dimples. Researchers wrote that there is a strong relationship between visual and xray measurements. (4) Trust your Sitka chiropractor to see a short leg…and address any related disc herniation sources of pain!

DISC HERNIATION RE-ABSORPTION WITH NON-SURGICAL CARE

A new study examined 75 cases of ruptured lumbar disc herniation. Forty-six of the 75 cases had radiating leg pain: 46 cases on the left and 29 on the right. (Makes sense now, yes?) At 5 years post- non-surgical treatment, a “reabsorption” phenomenon was noted. The excellent and good rate of disc reabsorption was 73.24%. (5) Arctic Chiropractic, Sitka provides relieving non-surgical care of Sitka leg pain and back pain.

RELIEF FOR Sitka LEG PAIN and BACK PAIN

And then recall the new paper regarding the benefits of chiropractic maintenance care: Maintenance care decreases the number of painful days for acute back pain episodes and increases the length of pain-free times between recurrent back pain episodes of persistent back pain. (6) Arctic Chiropractic, Sitka is here for those back pain and leg pain patients seeking fewer back and leg pain days and those who would like to live life with fewer periods of leg and back pain.
